Instrumentation and electrode placement.

Abstract

The field of sleep diagnostics and polysomnography has increased significantly in the past 2 decades, and the need for expertly trained and qualified technologists has never been greater. This article instructs the therapist in the importance of proper patient hookup, reviews the 10-20 international system of electrode placement, considers accurate placement of electrodes and sensors, and discusses the use of various instrumentation.
