The effects of malodorous fungating malignant wounds on body image and quality of life.

Abstract

Malodour is a common symptom of fungating malignant wounds. This paper reviews the literature to explore the transition, caused by malodour, from normal to altered body image, and the assessment strategies that can be used by nurses.
