Abstract
To ensure the accuracy of chromosome segregation in mitosis, the spindle checkpoint blocks the activity of the anaphase-promoting complex APC/C until all chromosomes are properly bi-orientated on the metaphase spindle. How the checkpoint machinery actually inhibits the APC/C is still unclear. A new paper by Tang and coworkers helps further our understanding of this complex and fundamental process.Entities:
