Abstract
Our experience with the routine removal of ovaries at the time of vaginal hysterectomy for 150 postmenopausal women is presented. The records of these women were compared with 200 women who underwent simple vaginal hysterectomy. The additional step of vaginal oophorectomy did not add to the morbidity of vaginal hysterectomy, and it is recommended that routine oophorectomy be considered for postmenopausal women having a vaginal hysterectomy.Entities:
