Patient safety in the neonatal intensive care unit.

Abstract

Patient safety has become a national priority. This article reviews issues of patient safety in neonatal intensive care. Safety goals for 2005 set by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations are discussed from the perspective of relevance to neonatal intensive care.
