Abstract
The anti-tumor activity of the immune system in the setting of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation has largely been described in the context of the "graft-versus-tumor" effect of allogeneic stem cell transplantation. This article reviews clinical evidence suggesting the existence of an autologous graft-versus-tumor effect in the setting of host immune system recovery following autologous stem cell transplantation resulting in prolongation of survival of cancer patients.Entities:
