Abstract
Arginine is a precursor of proteins and employed in urea synthesis. It is also the precursor of many other compounds, such as creatine, nitric oxide, polyamines, agmatine, proline. In this review, its transport and that of other basic amino acids are examined, along with its transformation into nitric oxide, agmatine and proline, and the mutual regulation of the individual pathways.Entities:
