Abstract
MR imaging provides a comprehensive method for noninvasive evaluation of renal donor anatomy. Although multidetector helical CT can provide similar information, MR imaging has the advantage of avoiding exposure to ionizing radiation and potentially nephrotoxic contrast material. These are important considerations in screening a generally healthy donor population. MR imaging also can provide complete evaluation of the kidney after transplantation, where avoidance of potentially nephrotoxic agents and preservation of maximal renal function are critical.Entities:
