Abstract
Intra-aural tick infestation was detected in 29 patients presenting with acute ear pain in the central province of Sri Lanka during June 1999 to January 2002. The ages ranged from 9 months to 67 years. All showed oedematous aural canals and enlarged adjacent lymph nodes. Of 30 ticks removed, 29 were nymphs of Dermacentor auratus and 1 and male Hyalomma marginatum isaaci.Entities:
