Abstract
Human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) open reading frame K1 sequences amplified from the urine of 5 of 78 (6.4%) infected people in Malawi were monotypic. In two people, urinary and oral sequences were genotypically different. Comprehensive evaluation of HHV-8 transmission may require characterization of HHV-8 shed both in urine and orally.Entities:
