Abstract
To improve specificity and sensitivity in the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease, neuropsychological tests and fluorine-18-FDG-PET are increasingly used. Here we present a patient whose lithium intoxication mimicked Alzheimer's disease both clinically and in 18-FDG-PET. This case serves as a reminder of the importance of the differential diagnosis of dementias and is intended to highlight one potential pitfall.Entities:
