Abstract
It has been suggested that maternal undernutrition results in facultative adjustment of the sex ratio at birth among humans, favouring females. We tested this hypothesis using data from the Demographics and Health Survey of Ethiopia for 2000. Our data provide at best limited support for the suggestion that maternal nutritional status is associated with the sex ratio at birth in humans.Entities:
