Abstract
Some spontaneous mutations are specifically 'adaptive' in two ways: in that they occur more often when they are useful than when they are irrelevant to the survival of the cell; and in that they occur as specific responses to selective pressures. These 'selection-induced mutations' occur both in bacteria and in the eukaryotic microorganism, yeast.Entities:
