The use of corticosteroid therapy in refractory Kawasaki patients.

Sulaiman M Al-Mayouf1.

Abstract

We retrospectively reviewed four children with Kawasaki disease refractory to the standard therapy. Although three patients had unusual complications, all four responded to intravenous methylprednisolone. This therapy may be considered early in the treatment of selected cases of Kawasaki disease.
