Abstract
Digital imaging has shown rapid advances in recent years. Various different digital mammography systems are now available for clinical use. Digital mammography does have clear advantages over traditional screen film mammography, but this is yet to convincingly translate into improved cancer detection rates. This review aims to describe the different technologies, introduce concepts related to image quality and review the current evidence for the use of digital mammography systems in clinical practice. Advanced applications of digital mammography such as computer-aided detection (CAD) are also discussed.Entities:
