[Para-articular, periprosthetic fracture in a case with total knee endoprosthesis using the Ilizarov hybrid fixator].

Periprothetic fractures near the knee joint must always be regarded as very severe fractures. Early mobilisation and low stress during surgery are the essential points in deciding which method of surgery to use. The Ilizarov frame can be very successful in individual cases. A hybrid frame can reduce the time of surgery substantially. This method is presented in two case reports.
