Abstract
Depolarization of the receptor membrane was recorded in labellar chemosensory hairs of flies upon stimulation by sucrose or NaCl. On the other hand, hyperpolarization was recorded in the case of CaCl(2), quinine, and acetic acid, all of which had an inhibitory effect on the initiation of chemosensory impulses.Entities:
