CHOLESTEROL BIOSYNTHESIS: MEVALONATE SYNTHESIS INHIBITED BY BILE SALTS.

Abstract

Certain bile salts inhibit biosynthesis of mevalonate from acetate-2-C(14) in normal rat liver homogenates. The physiological control of cholesterol biosynthesis is discussed.
