Abstract
Prospective clinical studies are evaluating the long-term success of Y-TZP-based all-ceramic FPDs. Y-TZP-based infrastructures for crowns and FPDs present favorable physical, mechanical, and optical properties. Some Y-TZP-based restorative systems use CAD/CAM technology. Nevertheless, technicians should be able to employ traditional concepts of infrastructure design for both crowns and FPDs when using such materials. The purpose of this article is to review the properties of Y-TZP-based materials as a restorative infrastructure and to review the application of traditional concepts of framework design with CAD/CAM technology.Entities:
