Studies to define viral cofactors for human immunodeficiency virus.

P D Griffiths1.

Abstract

Results from molecular biologic, cell biologic and animal experiments show that HIV replication can be driven by a variety of other viruses. If such interactions took place in vivo, then they could help to explain some of the complex pathogenesis of AIDS. The problems incurred in attempting to address this question in populations of humans are discussed.
