Abstract
The authors assessed the prevalence of neuropsychiatric manifestations occurring in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (NPSLE), according to the American College of Rheumatology standardized definitions for NPSLE, and evaluated the relationship between NPSLE and antiphospholipid antibodies. Sixty-one consecutive SLE patients were studied. Neuropsychiatric manifestations consistent with the diagnosis of NPSLE occurred in 44 (72%). Patients with NPSLE showed significantly higher levels of anticardiolipin antibodies.Entities:
