Abstract
T cells are critical mediators of immunity to the pre-erythrocytic stages of malaria parasites. In this review, we survey the role of the various T cell subsets in combating the pre-erythrocytic stages; in particular, the role of NK T cells. Moreover, we show how studies using malaria models have revealed a unique behavior of NK T cells, namely the bridging of innate and adaptive immunity.Entities:
