Urine nitrogen as a biomarker for the validation of dietary protein intake.

When validated for completeness, 24-h urine nitrogen obtained from repeated 24-h urine collections has provided useful insights into the validity of dietary assessments, underreporting behaviors and the structure of measurement errors that are associated with different methods.
