Abstract
We have reviewed the treatment of generalised anxiety disorder (GAD). Previous systematic reviews, clinical guidelines, and controlled trials were critically appraised, and described. Cognitive therapy, anxiety management therapy, certain antidepressants (paroxetine, imipramine, trazodone, opipramol), benzodiazeines and buspirone are effective treatments for GAD. The application of these findings in the clinical situation was discussed.Entities:
