Melting curve analysis of feline calicivirus isolates detected by real-time reverse transcription PCR.

Abstract

A real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction assay was developed to detect feline calicivirus infection in cats. Using SYBR green I melting curve analysis, isolates could be distinguished by their melting temperature. The assay is sensitive, linear over a wide range of template concentrations and allows accurate quantitation of viral load. Copyright 2002 Elsevier Science B.V.
