Abstract
The purine-pyrimidine and hydrogen donor-acceptor patterns governing nucleotide recognition are shown to correspond formally to a digital error-detection (parity) code, suggesting that factors other than physiochemical issues alone shaped the natural nucleotide alphabet.Entities:
