Abstract
Clathriol (1), a highly oxygenated steroid with the unusual 14beta configuration, was isolated from the New Zealand marine sponge Clathria lissosclera. The structure was elucidated from a combination of NMR and mass spectroscopy. Clathriol showed in vitro antiinflammatory activity against human neutrophyl and rat mast cells.Entities:
