Abstract
Dentinal hypersensitivity results when stimulation causes the fluid in open dentinal tubules to undergo pressure changes, which activates mechanoreceptor nerves and results in pain. Treatment with fluoride varnish forms a protective layer of calcium fluoride that prevents this fluid flow, thereby reducing dentinal sensitivity.Entities:
