Abstract
Oligosaccharides in which at least one glycosidic oxygen atom is replaced with a sulfur atom can be routinely synthesized and act as competitive inhibitors of various glycoside hydrolases. Recent studies using both X-ray crystallography and other biophysical techniques provide structural insight into binding, recognition, and the catalytic mechanism of action of these enzymes.Entities:
