Abstract
Acute hemorrhagic edema of infancy is a laucocytoclastic vasculitis characterized by a triad of fever, large purpuric skin lesions and edema. The presentation is often dramatic. The manifestations are often misinterpreted as a septicemic illness. We report the occurrence of this syndrome in a 1 1/2-year-old-child, highlighting some of the diagnostic and therapeutic problems encountered.Entities:
