Abstract
The largest reported rotavirus epidemic affected well over a million people in China during 1982-83 and was caused by the adult diarrhoea rotavirus (ADRV), a serogroup B rotavirus. However, ADRV has not been reported outside China since the last recorded small outbreak there in 1987. Here we present evidence that offers an explanation for the sudden appearance and disappearance of the epidemic ADRV strain.Entities:
