[Historical aspects of joint prosthesis implantation. A bibliographic study].

Abstract

Joint replacements are frequent and effective. The results are generally very positive. It is important to understand former techniques and the historical development of artificial joints by reviewing the bibliographical sources. This article provides a thorough synopsis of former efforts to fully appreciate present-day successes.
