Abstract
Most hospital executives would probably agree that it's a jungle out there. In today's competitive market, it's survival of the fittest. Some observers say the healthcare industry's version of Darwinism might not be such a bad thing. The demise of weaker hospitals thins overcapacity and helps control costs.
