Rhodium-catalyzed reformatsky-type reaction

Abstract

A novel Reformatsky-type reaction was developed using RhCl(PPh(3))(3) and diethylzinc. Inter- and intramolecular Reformatsky-type reactions were achieved efficiently under mild reaction conditions to give beta-hydroxy esters.
