Abstract
Intravenous iron has been used extensively and successfully as part of the treatment of anemia in dialysis patients. Iron dextran can be used safely, however, there is a slight risk of severe, anaphylactoid reactions. Iron gluconate and iron sucrose are less likely to cause hypersensitivity reactions. These products should be safe and effective alternatives to iron dextran.Entities:
