Abstract
The vertebrate immune system has evolved an elegant mechanism for generating an enormous diversity in antigen receptor binding specificity from a limited amount of genetic information. Recent advances are rapidly increasing our understanding of this unusual site-specific DNA rearrangement that assembles the antigen receptor genes during lymphoid development.Mesh:
