Abstract
The United Kingdom Prospective Diabetes Study (UKPDS) showed that intensive treatment (i.e., glucose-lowering drugs, with a goal fasting blood glucose level of 108 mg/dL) decreases the microvascular complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus. We summarize the key study results and their implications for clinical management of type 2 diabetes mellitus.Entities:
