Abstract
Sixteen children with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus were evaluated at diagnosis and after 1, 3, and 7 years. They showed significant declines in verbal but not visuospatial abilities, particularly if they had any seizures from hypoglycemia. At the 7-year assessment those with hypoglycemic seizures showed deficits on perceptual, motor, memory, and attention tasks.Entities:
