Abstract
Azelastine nasal spray is a topical antihistamine treatment for the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis. Besides histamine antagonism, azelastine affects other chemical mediators of the inflammatory response including leukotrienes and kinins. This article reviews and discusses the antihistaminic and anti-inflammatory properties of azelastine and the results of pharmacokinetic studies and controlled clinical trials.Entities:
