Abstract
Any public education campaign about cancer needs as much support from GPs as possible, for it is the GP to whom the patients at risk are first directed. A survey (sponsered by the Australian Cancer Society) of the attitudes of Sydney GPs towards breast cancer, self-detection procedures (breast self-examination), cancer education and related matters was conducted early in 1975. It is intended to utilize the findings of this survey in planning a large-scale field trial of public education about breast cancer which the Society hopes to undertake if funds can be obtained.Entities:
