Abstract
Nitric oxide, when slowly released from a donor compound, has a potent inhibitory effect on the oxidative modification of LDL. This can be studied by monitoring changes in the lipid, protein, and antioxidant components of the LDL particle. In addition, the kinetics of LDL oxidation provides an insight into the mechanistic basis of the nitric oxide-dependent inhibition of LDL oxidation.Entities:
