Abstract
We investigated the clinical feature of Tuberculosis complicating diabetes mellitus (DM). Among our eighty-nine inpatients diagnosed tuberculosis, 19(21.3%) had complicated DM. Seven of them (36.8%) had no symptom, and tuberculosis was found by chest X-ray abnormalities on a periodic examination. Ten of the 14 lung tuberculosis patients (71.4%) had cavitary lesions, and the rate was higher than that of all tuberculosis (53.8%). The glycemic control was poor in thirteen of the 19, and nine of them were applied insulin. Two of them died from deterioration of lung tuberculosis. Both of these two patients had poor glycemic control and Multi-drug-resistant M. tuberculosis was detected from one of the 2 patients.Entities:
