Abstract
Cerebral salt wasting (CSW) is a syndrome of hyponatremia due to excessive natriuresis described in patients with central nervous system insult. We present a 29-month-old black male with tuberculous meningitis who developed CSW with depressed mineralocorticoid activity. The patient required hypertonic saline and ionotropic support. Mineralocorticoid supplementation effectively treated CSW.Entities:
