Abstract
A 3 kb cDNA called pkCNT1, a new member of the Na+/nucleoside cotransporter family, was cloned from pig kidney and sequenced. The sequence of pkCNT1 encodes a 647 amino acid protein that is 84% identical to the sequence of the rat pyrimidine-selective Na+/nucleoside cotransporter, rCNT1. pkCNT1 transports pyrimidines, such as thymidine and uridine, and has a Km for uridine of 9 microM.Entities:
