Tuberculous pericarditis: MRI features with contrast enhancement.

H Hayashi1, H Kawamata, M Machida, T Kumazaki.

Abstract

Tuberculous pericarditis has decreased in incidence, but early diagnosis and treatment are critical because constrictive pericarditis is a serious complication of this condition. The appearances of tuberculous pericarditis on gadolinium enhanced magnetic resonance imaging are described and the value of this modality in achieving an early diagnosis is emphasized.
