Peripheral ulcerative keratitis after Salmonella gastroenteritis.

Abstract

PURPOSE: To describe a case of bilateral peripheral ulcerative keratitis after Salmonella gastroenteritis.
METHODS: Case report with description of treatment and outcome.
RESULTS: The peripheral ulcerative keratitis gradually resolved in both eyes after appropriate systemic antibiotic therapy and local ocular care.
CONCLUSION: Peripheral ulcerative keratitis can result as a consequence of infectious gastroenteritis.
