Abstract
Eukaryotic organisms use cell-cycle checkpoints to ensure that nuclear division is restrained while DNA is undergoing replication or repair. Recent studies of the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe have illuminated these checkpoint mechanisms. These investigations have connected checkpoint proteins with central elements of the mitotic-control machinery.Entities:
