Abstract
The 'Pax Vobiscum' project aims to interlink the five radiology departments of the administrative region Orebro County into one virtual department. Altogether the 48 examination rooms, producing 185000 examinations per year, will convert to digital filmless technology and work as one functional unit although geographically spread out in five different cities within the county. Within the Pax Vobiscum project, a completely integrated application for radiological information systems (RIS) and PACS will be developed and also new image techniques such as direct digital detectors will be integrated in the functional department. Furthermore, the world outside radiology is included in the project while both image distribution and electronic RIS data communication (requests and reports) will be addressed.
