Wide-angle cutter vitrophage.

G A Peyman.

Abstract

A wide-angle cutter vitrophage facilitates removal of semi-solid or thick retropupillary membranes. The cutting orifice permits engagement of inflexible material which is then cut and removed via the instrument. The wide-angle cutter has successfully removed thick secondary membranes and expedites pars plana removal of cataracts with 2+ nuclear sclerosis.
