Anemia and quality of life in cancer patients: impact of transfusion and erythropoietin.

Abstract

Anemia is a frequent complication of cancer and its treatment and can have a significant impact on one's quality of life. The utility of mechanisms currently used to ameliorate the anemia (i.e. transfusion and erythropoietin) is reviewed vis-à-vis improving quality of life.
